Creative Photography (K-6)
Create artful photographs inspired by the world around you
We explore photography as an art form while learning foundational skills. Classes meet at the Riparian Preserve, where nature is our inspiration! We play with light and shadow, color, shape, texture, and detail to create photo masterpieces. We learn about composition, perspective, and visual storytelling. Any camera is welcome. Send one favorite photo from each class in digital format, and get an 8×10 print so students leave with a curated photography portfolio!

Meet the Teacher
Hi! My name is Beth. I work as a professional artist and I've been teaching art for 18 years. Throughout my career, I've seen the transformative effect art can have on children. It's the one place they can make a mess, make mistakes, and create something great in the process. I see the pride and confidence it builds, the ideas it inspires, and the skills it develops. I’ve created fun play-based art classes to introduce foundational learning and artistic skills such as creative problem solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence to foster a love of learning and set students up for academic and personal success.
