Nature Sketching (K - 6th)
Connect with nature through art and creativity!
Join us for guided nature walks through the Riparian Preserve, where students sketch plants, animals, landscapes, and natural details that catch their attention. Students learn foundational sketching skills such as observation, line, shape, proportion, and texture while also learning about native plants, wildlife, and the local environment. This class encourages curiosity, mindfulness, and creative expression, helping students build confidence in both their drawing skills and connection to nature. Maximum of 8 students.

Meet the Teacher
Hi! My name is Beth. I work as a professional artist and I've been teaching art for over 15 years. Throughout my career, I've seen the transformative effect art can have on children. It's the one place they can make a mess, make mistakes, and create something great in the process. I see the pride and confidence it builds, the ideas it inspires, and the skills it develops. I’ve created fun play-based art classes to introduce foundational learning and artistic skills such as creative problem solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence to foster a love of learning and set students up for academic and personal success.
