The Foundations of Art (K-3)
An art class designed to nurture creativity and develop strong artistic skills
Taught by a professional artist, this class introduces young artists to the elements of art including line, shape, texture, color, form and scale. We'll explore the technical skills of drawing, observation, and translating what we see onto paper. We'll use different mediums and art styles so children can explore their creativity while developing fine motor skills and visual perception. With a maximum of 8 students, every child gets individual instruction. Your child will gain a foundation in artistic concepts and confidence in their artistic abilities!

Meet the Teacher
Hi! My name is Beth. I work as a professional artist and I've been teaching art for over 15 years. Throughout my career, I've seen the transformative effect art can have on children. It's the one place they can make a mess, make mistakes, and create something great in the process. I see the pride and confidence it builds, the ideas it inspires, and the skills it develops. I’ve created fun play-based art classes to introduce foundational learning and artistic skills such as creative problem solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence to foster a love of learning and set students up for academic and personal success.
